Community College!

A community college can be a good option for anyone with money to spend and the time to spend in school for awhile. Again you need to make sure there are several trucking companies that hire from the community college that you attend and that they are looking for drivers. These programs are much longer than the other types of CDL training mentioned and most community colleges do not offer extensive job placement services.

The downsides are no guarantee of employment, high cost, and a training school that can be 2 to 3 times longer than a normal program given most community college programs last anywhere from twelve to sixteen weeks. The training is usually good here depending on the school yet for most entering the trucking industry time is an important issue given the longer you spend in School the longer you go without a paycheck. Having a job lined up is critical for a new CDL holder. The longer you wait to begin working after you graduate from a truck driving School the more likely the chances are of having to be re-trained. Being retrained means paying twice for the same CDL.

Use the navigation box in the upper left corner of the website to look at the different types of CDL Training schools and find the option that is best for you!
